Alaska Officials Say They’ll Continue Discussion Over On-Site Marijuana Use

The initial introduction of on-site recreational marijuana use hasn’t gone so well in Alaska. However, the debate isn’t over yet. Peter Mlynarik, the head of the Alaska Marijuana Control Board, says the discussion is still alive, there’s just no date set to continue the discussion.

The initial proposal was rejected in a vote of 3 – 2 opposing on-site use, according to ABC News. Some of the reason for the opposition of the legislation is the Trump administration and the concern over its position regarding marijuana. After the vote, the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office said that the debate will continue.

The Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office insists that legislation is already in place with the existing regulations for on-site consumption. The office believes that maybe it was just missed. Marijuana business owners are encouraged to submit proper documentation for on-site use requests to the board for further review.

The existing legislation needs to be revisited so that discussion regarding on-site marijuana consumption can continue.
