Alaska AG Says State’s Marijuana Law Will Not Be Overturned

Alaska Marijuana Law

There’s at least one lawmaker who isn’t worried about Sean Spicer’s recent stirring of the marijuana industry: Alaska’s Attorney General. He is still calm, cool and collected. The office is confident that federal crackdowns and enforcement won’t affect the state’s marijuana laws.

Cory Mills, Department of Law spokeswoman, says the state’s law won’t be overturned, according to KTUU 2 News. Mills argues that federal law differs from state law. The federal government, according to Mills, should focus on enforcing their federal law and refrain from infringing on state laws.

Cary Carrigan, Alaska Marijuana Industry Association executive director, said, “You have to see something happen before you can really react to it.”

He believes that everyone just needs to sit tight and not worry about Spicer’s comments.
