Pro-Marijuana Laws Not Linked to Higher Use Among Youth

Smoking

Changes to pro-marijuana laws are not connected to an increased use by adolescents, according to a study’s recently published data in the International Journal of Drug Policy.

At the University of Kent, a sociology and social research professor analyzed three distinct onsets of global marijuana use data from 38 countries over a period of nine years, NORML reported.

“[D]ata do not reveal a statistically significant association between policy ‘liberalization’ and higher odds of increased cannabis use,” the data concluded.

Another recent study also found that marijuana’s legal status in certain states in America doesn’t represent increased use by adolescents.
