Nome’s First Marijuana Dispensary Coming Soon

The Alaska Marijuana Control Board has approved a retail store license for Nome. This will be the first recreational marijuana store in Western Alaska. Gudlief Organization, owned by Robin Thomas, made the necessary upgrades needed for the board to grant approval of his retail store application.

Thomas’ application was initially denied in November due to some inaccuracies, concerns and lack of detail, according to Knom. The retail space will be small to start, but plans to expand in size are in the works. Gudlief will need to pass a final inspection before it can open.

Thomas said, “I made some changes in the application, and there were about seen items, there was verbiage details. Verbiage for the signs was not verbatim, so those corrections were on some plastic signs made up with white lettering, I got those posted. Cameras are focused on secure storage area and the retail (area).”

Thomas is hoping that the final inspection will come in time for him to open the retail shop on April 20, 2018 at 4:20 p.m.
